Ashish Athavale

Ashish heads BDO’s Tax and Regulatory services in the UAE. Gaining experience in New York in US State and local taxes, Ashish has spent a significant amount of time on indirect taxes in Mumbai and Pune where he supported clients with the implementation of the latest GST. Ashish has been in the Middle East for the past five years, heading BDO’s Tax and Regulatory services in Oman, Bahrain and the UAE. In addition to overseeing Tax compliance for clients in the region, he also was involved in how clients prepare both their business and supply chain plans with due consideration of the impact of Taxes and related regulatory aspects. As a trained lawyer, Ashish also involved in how clients should prepare for Tax assessments / audits. In addition to providing Tax compliance and advisory services to clients, he supported the various authorities in considering policy changes to address the needs of clients.
